Sarasota Police detectives are investigating two separate shooting incidents in the last two days. It is unknown if these two shooting incidents are related. Chief Bernadette DiPino is concerned about the number of shootings that have happened since a state of emergency was declared March 13, 2020

Uvo-Kk Ayoma Uvo, 28, of Bradenton, was sentenced to 22 years in prison with credit for time served followed by five (5) years probation with special conditions by Judge Charles Roberts on July 13, 2020. Uvo-Kk Ayoma Uvo was found guilty by a jury in March 2020 after the death of a child in 2017.
