The Sarasota Police Department Traffic Unit officers are investigating a traffic crash fatality that happened on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at approximately 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of University Parkway and North Tamiami Trail (U.S. 41) in the city of Sarasota.

Sarasota man arrested and facing multiple counts of possession of child pornography
Ted Sanchez, 19, of Briggs Avenue, Sarasota, has been arrested and is facing 10 counts of possession of child pornography. Additional charges are possible.

Sarasota Police arrest man in connection to August 2020 shooting
Jaymes Smith, 29, of North Lockwood Ridge Road #28, Sarasota, is facing charges of attempted murder in connection to a shooting that happened on August 14, 2020. Smith was served with the additional charges on Wednesday, December 9, 2020.
