Trails, hiking, beach access, swimming, no lifeguards on duty, is perfect for canoe and kayak launching. Pets, except trained service animals, are prohibited in the park and on the public beaches.
North Lido Beach Park, acquired as an undeveloped area to remain in its natural state, was purchased through a bond referendum by the City of Sarasota in 1977. The park contains an upland area with 49 acres of Australian pine woods, grassy savannahs and walking trails, plus 22.5 acres of beach and mangroves. Bird nesting areas on the beach are protected and visitors should be careful not to disturb the nests.
