The City of Sarasota dedicated this park to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and the Newtown Community, on June 16, 1992. The park was recently renovated on September 19, 2019. The main pavilion was reconstructed, new picnic tables and BBQ grills were added, and more!

The pavilion is equipped with restrooms daily from 8:00AM to 9:00PM, a kitchen, and electrical outlets. The brick circle not only provides the perfect view of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. dedication statue but doubles as a performing circle.  This park is the perfect location to host your next event. Interested parties can contact the Outdoor Special Events Department here.
