Eugenia Bright, 43, of Sarasota, has been arrested and is facing charges of Second Degree Murder in connection to a suspicious death that happened on November 21, 2022.

District 1 Commissioner Kyle Battie was selected by the City Commission today during a statutory meeting to serve as mayor for the next year and District 2 Commissioner Liz Alpert was selected to serve as vice mayor.
